COVID-19: More cities under lockdown cases rise to 396 in India

New Delhi, Mar 23, 2020: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra rose to 89 with 15 more coronavirus positive cases reported in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday, 23 March, according to PTI.

 

Seventy five districts in India where coronavirus cases were reported have been locked down as authorities undertook extraordinary measures to check the spread of the disease, while all inter-state buses, passenger trains and metro services remain suspended across the country till 31 March.

Former US movie producer Harvey Weinstein, who is serving a prison sentence for sexual assault and rape, has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the head of the state corrections officers union, Reuters reported on Monday, 23 March.

The total number of coronavirus cases across the globe stood at at least 3,00,097 according to AFP, even as the number in India rose to 396 on Sunday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
