Yellapura, Nov 01, 2022: Days after a suspension bridge collapsed in Gujarat’s Morbi district, a shocking incident has come to light in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district which could easily have caused a terrible accident.

A person took his car on a small suspension bridge over a river in Karnataka’s Yellapura town in the Uttara Kannada district.

A video of the incident has gone viral. The video shows the person struggling to drive his car on the bridge. The locals then helped him get the vehicle off the bridge and avoid an unfortunate adventure.

The bridge is meant only for two-wheelers and walkers. However, it was used by the person to drive his car. The locals immediately alerted the officials and cautioned the car driver.

The car driver claimed that he was unaware of the bridge being unfit for four-wheelers. He said that he saw bikes on the bridge and assumed that cars too could cross through it. He is not a local resident.

The suspension bridge on the Machchhu river in Gujarat’s Morbi collapsed on Sunday evening, killing 135 people. The British-era bridge had reopened for the public just four days back after remaining shut for renovation work for seven months.
