Case registered against Congress lawmaker in Karnataka for ’attacking’ BJP leader

Bengaluru, Dec 06, 2023: Karnataka Police has registered an FIR against Congress leader and Member of Legislative Council, Channaraja Hattiholi, in the case of the attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prithvi Singh.

Hattiholi’s two close aides, Sujith Jadhav and Saddam, have also been named in the FIR registered in Belagavi in connection with the stabbing incident.

Prithvi Singh, aka Phupinder Singh Ludhar, was attacked on Monday with a sharp-edged weapon near his Jayanagar Hindalga residence in Belagavi. He alleged that Hattiholi was behind the attack.

According to the complaint filed by Prithvi Singh’s son, Phubinder Singh, a case has been registered against MLC Hattiholi, Saddam, Sujit Jadhav, and Hattiholi’s two gunmen.

The charges include unlawful assembly (IPC 143), rioting (147), being armed with a deadly weapon (148), voluntarily causing hurt (323, 324), theft (379), intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace (504), criminal intimidation (506), and other relevant charges.
