Chennai: 5 Restaurant chains including Saravana Bhavan raided

Chennai, Jan 03, 2019 : Five popular restaurant chains in Chennai, including the Saravana Bhavan group, were raided by Income Tax officials today, NDTV reported.

 

Raids are being conducted at the offices of Saravana Bhavana, Grand Sweets, Hot Breads and Anjappar Group in Chennai. Searches are being conducted at 32 places across the city.

Income Tax department officials said the searches are being done following complaints of alleged tax evasion.

Saravana Bhavan, the most well-known among the five restaurant groups, has a number of outlets in India and across the world, including New York, London, Paris, Singapore and other cities.
