Cinevista Studio fire: Narrow escape for 150 people present on shooting set

Mumbai, Jan 06, 2018: Days after Mumbai witnessed a deadly fire at the Kamala Mills compound, a fire has been reported from the city’s Cinevista studio in Kanjurmarg.

 

At least 150 people were present in the studio when the fire broke out. TV actors Jennifer Winget, Harshad Chopra, Sehban Azim and Namrata Dubey were shooting for their upcoming show Bepanaah.

At least 7 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

This is the second fire incident on the sets. Last year, it caught fire while Sony’s Beyhadh was being shot. However, there were no casualities.

"The fire broke out at Cine Vista studio on LBS Road at around 8 pm," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 7) Akhilesh Singh.


While efforts were on to douse the flames, so far there are no reports of anyone getting injured, the DCP said.

The studio is a ground-plus-one structure.

Electrical wiring inside the studio caught fire first, the officer said.

No casualities have been reported.
