Bengaluru, October 13, 2024: Amid ongoing speculation about a potential change in leadership, the Congress high command has reportedly stepped in, urging Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy, D K Shivakumar, to take decisive action to address the unrest within the party.
On Wednesday, Shivakumar visited Siddaramaiah’s residence, where both leaders were in communication with AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal via phone. According to sources, Venugopal conveyed the high command’s dissatisfaction with recent statements from certain ministers and their separate meetings, which have fueled rumors that Siddaramaiah might be replaced. The Congress leadership has instructed Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar to enforce strict discipline to prevent further speculation.
Additionally, the ’Dalit CM’ rumor, sparked by a series of meetings led by Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi, must be put to rest, Venugopal is said to have emphasized in his communication with the two leaders.
