Demonetisation monumentally mismanaged by Modi govt: Manmohan Singh in RS

New Delhi, Nov 24, 2016: The government’s decision to demonetise high value currency notes was implemented with “monumental mismanagement”, said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

 

He also warned that the way the move has been implemented, could see the GDP of the country shrink by 2 percentage-points.

“It is important to take note of the grievances of the people suffering’’’ he said.

I ask you to find practical, pragmatic means to relieve people of their distress, he said with PM Modi sitting in the treasury benches.
