Dhoni hints at retirement from IPL

New Delhi, April 22, 2023: Even as his team celebrated a well fought victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Friday dropped a hint that he could be playing in his last IPL season.  “It’s the last phase of my career" he said.

 

Amidst the vociferous support of the crowd after his team won the match, Dhoni said, "All said and done, it’s the last phase of my career. Feels good to be here. Crowd has given us a lot of love and affection.”

I’m not getting enough chances to bat, but have no complaints. I was hesitant to bat second because I had that feeling there won’t be a lot of dew. When there are chances of dew, you have to bat second, he explained.

 Conway who scored an unbeaten 57-ball 77 said CSK could have won Friday’s match much earlier but chose caution over aggression. “We are fashioning a winning template” he said.
