New Delhi, August 18, 2014: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday compared RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat with Hitler.
Criticising Mohan Bhagwat for his statement on Hindu nation and Hindutva Digvijaya said, "I thought we had one Hitler in making but it seems now we have Two ! God save India."
Stoking yet another controversy, the RSS chief on Sunday said India is a Hindu nation and Hindutva is its identity. Earlier, Bhagwat had said in Cuttack, "The cultural identity of all Indians is Hindutva and the present inhabitants of the country are descendants of this great culture."
If inhabitants of England are English, Germany are Germans and USA are Americans then why all inhabitants of Hindustan are not known as Hindus, he had posed. Digvijaya Singh had compared the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to Taliban’s and said that the right-wing outfit was damaging the peace of the country.
He had urged the government to ban books allegedly spreading communal ideology. Speaking in Parliament during a debate on the working of the Home Ministry, Singh had said, "The biggest threat the country is facing is terrorism. What breeds terrorism is communal ideology." The RSS is the ideological mentor of the BJP government at the Centre.
