Vellore, Nov 29, 2021: An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale shook Tamil Nadu’s Vellore district in the early hours of Monday morning.
No immediate loss of life or property has been reported in the incident.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the quake, with its epicentre in Vellore district, occurred at 4.17 am at a shallow depth of 25 km.

On Friday, an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 had hit Thenzawl in Mizoram at around 5.15 am.
Tremors were felt across states in northeastern India and major cities in Bangladesh, according to EMSC and India’s earthquake monitoring agency.
