Email With Tip Offs About Black Money, Says Government

New Delhi, dec 16, 2016:  The government urged people today to inform them whenever they find out about money laundering.

"I urge people to send any information they have to blackmoneyinfo@incometax.gov.in," Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia said at a press conference this afternoon.

"No one should think that just because they have deposited the money in banks, it becomes white," he added.

Mr Adhia said that a new black money disclosure scheme will open tomorrow which will attract 50 per cent tax and penalty, the Revenue Secretary said.

"Unaccounted cash can be disclosed under PMGKY that comes with 50 per cent tax and penalty starting from tomorrow till 31st March, 2017," Mr Adhia said.
