Ex-Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi may join BJP: Ravi Shankar Prasad

New Delhi, May 21, 2015: Dates for Bihar Assembly polls are yet to be announced, but the BJP already seems to be tightening its belt to bag the politically important state.

ravi-shankarResponding to questions during Aaj Tak’s special political debate-Manthan, Union minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad stopped short revealing BJP’s Bihar plans but indicated that state’s former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi may join the party.

While rejecting reports about former RJD leader Pappu Yadav’s inclusion in BJP, Prasad criticised Nitish Kumar for treating Manjhi like a puppet and said the party may decide on his inclusion, but a final decision will be taken later.

Highlighting Modi government’s achievements on the completion of its first year in office, the Union minister of communications and information technology described transparent spectrum allocation as the government’s biggest gain.

The aim of this government is to see India as a digitally advance nation. The government wants more and more people to utilise mobile phone facility, Prasad said.

BPOs in small towns

Prasad also revealed government’s plans to establish BPOs in small towns. Call centres will be operating soon in towns like Gorakhpur, Azamgarh and Muzaffarpur.

Taj Mahal to get WiFi facility

The Union minister, while responding to a question, said that tourist places like Taj Mahal, Bodh-Gaya and Sarnath would  be equipped with WiFi service soon.
