FIR registered against Santosh Hegde, CID chief Dutta

Bangalore,Mar 30, 2012 : An FIR has been registered against former Karnataka Lokyukta Justice N Santosh Hegde and Criminal Investigation Department Chief R K Dutta on a complaint by an IPS official that he was mentally harassed by them by levelling charges that he possessed assets worth Rs 250 crore. Deputy Inspector General (Internal Security Division) Hemant Nimbalkar in his March 16 complaint alleged that Hegde and Lokayukta officials conducted raids at his office and residence in 2009 and declared that he possessed assets worth Rs 250 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income. "It has caused huge mental harassment to me from the date of raids," said Nimbalkar. A senior police official said the FIR was not lodged earlier as they were seeking legal opinion in the matter since the charges were levelled against Hegde and Dutta.
