Bangalore, May 24, 2013: A day after bride-to-be Ramya was found murdered, the police have arrested her fiancé on the charge of killing her.

Nandan Gowda, son of Nagaraj, a land developer and local BJP leader in Hessarghatta, who was engaged to be married to Ramya, has reportedly confessed to strangling her to death and dumping her body near Platinum City in Goreguntepalya.

Fiancy Arrested-Ramy murder

Ramya’s end came not only on her wedding eve but also on her 25th birthday.

Police said Nandan, also 25, and his friend Sunil, who too has been arrested, sedated and throttled Ramya to death in their car. Though Nandan initially lied to the police that he did not meet Ramya on that day, he eventually confessed when the police countered him by showing the location of his mobile phone near the scene of crime.

Nandan is believed to have told the police that he was not keen on the marriage but agreed reluctantly when Ramya, with whom he had been involved, threatened to lodge a cheating complaint. On Wednesday, he called her out on the pretext of a birthday treat and tried to persuade her to call off the wedding. But when she threatened him again, he decided to get rid of her.
