Fire onboard INS Vikramaditya, no casualties reported

Karwar, July 21, 2022: There was a minor fire onboard India’s aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya on Wednesday, July 20. The fire was brought under control by the ship’s crew using fire fighting systems. No casualties have been reported.

"The ship was operating off Karwar. The fire was brought under control by the ship’s crew using onboard fire fighting systems. No casualties have been reported," the Indian Navy said in a statement.

A board of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident.
