Five dead, another seriously injured after fire breaks out at crackers shop in Indore

Bhopal, Apr 19, 2017: At least 5 people were killed and another was seriously injured after a fire broke out at a crackers shop in Ranipura area of Indore on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Indore collector P Narhari ordered an inquiry into the incident.

According to police, about 25 vehicles were gutted. The fire broke out in a crowded market in the afternoon.

Police said fire tenders got delayed in reaching the spot due to narrow lanes.

A man was found dead at the gutted shop and seven others were seriously injured. Four victims succumbed to their injuries at the MY Hospital. The death toll may rise, said police sources.

Police are investigating the incident to ascertain the cause of the fire.

District administration will also initiate a process to shift firecracker shops from the busy market, said official sources.
