Former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah steps down as National Conference chief

Srinagar, Nov 18, 2022: Former chief minister Farooq Abdullah on Friday stepped down as the president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) party.

Addressing his party workers in Srinagar, the JKNC patron said, "My health doesn’t permit me to lead the party now."

The new party president is to be elected on December 5 with party vice-president and former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah being the likely successor.
