Madhya Pradesh, Feb 3: A bank manager who had been missing for 12 days stunned a police station in Madhya Pradesh by arriving with four sacks full of money. Nearly three crores. In cash. Staffers from the state-run bank where he worked were summoned to count the currency. There was so much of it that it took them six hours to do the math.
The manager, Sudarshan Joshi, was suspended late in January after three crores went missing from the branch he ran. He then disappeared.
He surrendered yesterday in the Harda district.
He has been arrested and will appear in court to face charges. The amount he returned is about Rs. 30,000 short.
"We were constantly trying to get hold of Joshi and finally he succumbed to our pressure and surrendered," said police officer Prem Babu Sharma.
