New Delhi, May 12, 2021: Gangster Chhota Rajan has recovered from Covid-19 and has been taken back to Tihar jail, officials said. Rajan, who was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi for his treatment was discharged on Tuesday.
He tested positive for Covid-19 on April 22 and was admitted to the hospital on April 24.
Earlier this month, the social media was flooded with news of his death. On Friday, the jail administration dismissed the reports of his death.
’’News of his death of Tihar jail inmate Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje @ Chhota Rajan s/o Sadashiv Nikalje is wrong,’’ Director General (Prisons) Sandeep Goel had said.
Rajan, 61, is lodged at the high-security prison since his arrest after deportation from Bali in Indonesia in 2015.
All the criminal cases pending against him in Mumbai were transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and a special court was constituted to try them.
