Govt to strengthen Industrial Development through new policy: Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru, July 23, 2023: On Saturday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the state government is planning to introduce an industrial policy aimed at promoting exports. He made this statement while speaking at the state export excellence award presentation ceremony, which was organized by the Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC) under the Industries and Commerce department.

In his address, the chief minister emphasized the government’s commitment to not only bolster industrial development but also strengthen the skill development department. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to address the issue of unemployment in the state.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also participated in the event and urged entrepreneurs to consider setting up their businesses in tier 2 and 3 cities. He assured them that the government would offer additional incentives to support the establishment of industries in these regions. This move, he hoped, would foster growth and development throughout the state.

M B Patil, the Minister for Large and Medium Industries, highlighted the government’s plan to establish Common Facility Centres, which would play a crucial role in boosting the growth of small and medium enterprises in the state.

During the ceremony, a total of 68 industries across 12 categories were recognized and honored with excellent export awards. Notable awardees included companies such as Biocon, HAL, Toyota Kirloskar, and GE India Pvt Ltd.
