HC notice to Belagere over CCB petition

Bengaluru, Apr 06, 2018 : The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday ordered a notice to Ravi Belagere, the editor of Kannada weekly ’Hi Bangalore’, over a petition filed by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for cancelling his bail.

 

The CCB had filed a charge sheet accusing Belagere of hiring a sharpshooter to kill his colleague, Sunil Heggaravalli.

Justice Srinivas Harish Kumar, who issued the notice, ordered Belagere to file objections to the petition and adjourned the hearing.

The CCB’s petition contended that Belagere had submitted old medical records, not the ones relating to his present health condition, to get bail from the lower court.
