Khattar’s announcement came after he met the family of the victim.

The state government will also take over the management of the school for the next three months, he said. Deputy commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh will be in charge of the school during this period.

The child’s parents had been demanding that the investigation be handed over to the CBI since they believed that the murder was planned.

“Glad that the sensitivity this case deserved has been shown”, the father of the victim said shortly after the CBI probe was announced, ANI reported.

He had earlier told Hindustan Times that he was “not unhappy with the police investigation but I want a detailed investigation as there is something which is missing in the probe.

There are a lot of loopholes which need to be investigated and CBI can do in-depth investigation which will clear the motive of the murder”.

Ashok Kumar, 42, is currently the prime suspect in the case with the police saying that he confessed to have killed the child by slitting his throat in the school.

His wife, however, said recently that he had been coerced by the police to make the confession.
