Hyderabad: Four minors attempt to rape 19-year-old girl, arrested

New Delhi, Mar 19, 2018 : The Police has arrested four juveniles for allegedly attempting to rape a 19-year-old student near the Hyderabad university on Friday evening. The victim is student of Hyderabad university.

 

Giving information about the incident, police said that four minors, who are school dropouts, had entered the campus by jumping the compound wall with an intention to steal copper wires. At that time, victim and her male classmate were sitting and chatting near a lake in the campus. Noticing them, these miscreants demanded their mobile phones and money.

When the two refused to hand over their mobiles and money, they reportedly tried to rape the woman. The male friend of victim tried to stop them upon which the assailants beat him and even tried to strangulate him. The duo suffered injuries in this process.

Somehow, the two managed to escape but miscreants started chasing. But when both were about to reach university building, then these miscreants returned woman’s belonging but ran away with man’s belonging. They also threatened them not to say anything to anyone.

The duo alerted their friends who called the police. A complaint was lodged and both were taken to hospital for treatment. A case was registered against the minors. Police further revealed that two of them were involved in several cases of robbery and theft of two-wheelers and autorickshaws.
