"I have no enemies. I can’t say why it happened but I will keep spreading my message. I have no fear," he said, adding "I don’t want security to block me from people. I forgive the attacker and welcome him to satsang."

Speaking in a press meet, he said, "I want my followers to take this as a bad dream and move forward. I don’t want big security."

The Art of Living founder was shot at on Sunday evening as he was leaving his ashram after giving a discourse. While Sri Sri was unhurt, a devotee in the same car was injured.

Sri Sri continued his schedule even after the shooting and on Monday morning as well.

Meanwhile, the Bangalore police have no leads yet on the assassination attempt. They have said the investigations are in the early stages and forensic experts are conducting examinations. No arrests have been made so far. Policemen were there at the attack site all night with dog squad looking for clues.

"It is too premature to comment right away. There was no specific threat but swamiji already has been provided security. We will examine all the witnesses who were there," IGP Central Range, Kamal Panth said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Ramanagaram district) Deveraj said an unidentified person fired a round at the convoy. He said the identity of the person is yet to be ascertained.

"I am absolutely safe," the 54-year-old founder of the Art of Living said shortly after the incident.

One of his devotees who was injured in the attack was discharged after first aid at a local hospital, he said. He sustained a minor injury on the thigh with the bullet brushing past.
