The searches were in follow up to the RDX that was found in Ghazipur last month. A team of the Delhi Police Special Cell reached the house at Seemapuri. During the search, a suspicious sealed pack was found in the bag.

A team of NSG was called and it was confirmed that there was IED in the bag.

The house from where the IED has been recovered belongs to a person named Kasim, who had given the second floor of his house on rent to a boy a few days ago through a property dealer. Later, three more boys came to live with him. They all fled from the house before the police raid leaving the IED bags behind.

A resident, Tahir Siddiqui, said three or four boys were living as tenants in the house. He claimed that the police found bomb in the house. He insisted that the matter should be investigated.
The Special Cell is conducting further investigations.

he Special Cell had intercepted several dozen suspicious phone calls, on the basis of which this house was traced.

They suspected that the tenants in the house had connections with the Ghazipur RDX case. The police raided the place. The tenants had fled but a bag was found in which they found something suspicious.

According to sources, the IED recovered in Delhi’s Ghazipur is linked to the car explosion on January 29 in a parking lot in Himachal Pradesh’s Kallu.

The forensic team at the spot, found matching traces of magnets in the IED in Ghazipur and the car in Kullu. Today, the case has been linked with explosives found in Seemapuri.

On January 14, an IED device was recovered from an unattended bag at Ghazipur Flower Market. Around 1.5 kg of explosive material was found, a sizeable quantity capable of dealing heavy damage.

The Delhi Police, bomb disposal squad and the National Security Guard (NSG) were called in. The NSG conducted a controlled explosion to neutralise the IED.
