IIT Madras student commits suicide inside his hostel room

New Delhi, Sep 22, 2015: A 23-year-old student was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his hostel room on Monday. N Narendra Kumar Reddy, a second year M Tech student, was a resident of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh. 

Although, police have not recovered any suicide from his room but pressure of getting a good job after completion of the course is said to be a reason behind the incident. The cops have taken his laptops and phone for detailed investigation into the case.

Reddy’s study at IIT was being financed by a private construction firm at Manapakkam under a sponsorship programme by the firm.

Reddy has returned from his native his native village on Monday after a vacation of Vinayagar Chathurthi festival last week.
