IPL Auction 2025: Rishabh Pant most expensive ever for Rs 27 crore to LSG

Jeddah, November 24, 2024: The mega auction was up to a rich start as Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer became the two most expensive buys in the history of IPL. Rishabh Pant found a new home at Lucknow Super Giants for a staggering ₹27 crore, while Punjab Kings snapped up Shreyas Iyer for a whopping ₹26.75 crore.

KL Rahul was sold to Delhi Capitals for ₹14 crore. Mitchell Starc went to Delhi Capitals for ₹11.75 crore, Jos Buttler to Gujarat Titans for ₹15.75 crore. Arshdeep Singh was retained by Punjab Kings, who used the RTM card to keep him for ₹18 core.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the most expensive buy in Round 2, going to Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore. Mohammed Shami was the first pick of the second round, and he was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹10 crore. His former GT teammate David Miller was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for ₹7.5 crore. Mohammed Siraj struck some riches too, with Gujarat Titans shelling ₹12.25 crore for the fast bowler. Shami was the first pick in Round 2 and his former GT teammate David Miller came next.

IPL 2025 mega auction is taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A total of 574 players will be sold today and tomorrow. Out of these, 48 are capped Indians while 193 are overseas capped players.
