New Delhi, Oct 29, 2021: India registered 14,348 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, 11.2 per cent lower than yesterday. With a fresh jump of over 14,000 cases, total caseload in the country climbed to 3,42,46,157.
As many as 805 people succumbed to the infection in the past 24 hours. With this, death toll in the country mounted to 4,57,191.
India’s recovery rate now stands at 98.19 per cent.
Top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 7,738 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 1,418 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,061 cases, West Bengal with 990 cases and Mizoram with 592 cases.
Here are the top developments:
* The top five states account for 82.23 per cent of the new Covid-19 cases, with Kerala alone responsible for 53.93 per cent of the new cases.
* Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (708), followed by Maharashtra with 36 daily deaths.
* A total of 13,198 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 3,36,27,632 across the country.
* India’s active caseload stands at 1,61,334. In the last 24 hours, active cases increase by 345.
* India has administered a total of 74,33,392 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,04,82,00,966.
* A total of 12,84,552 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
