India logs 24,354 new Covid-19 cases; 8.9% lower than yesterday

New Delhi, Oct 02, 2021: India has registered 24,354 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is 8.9 per cent lower than yesterday. With this, the country’s case tally has touched 3,37,91,061.

The daily case count on Friday was 26,727 new Covid-19 cases, which is 13.6 per cent higher than what was recorded on Thursday.

As many as 234 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours, increasing the total death count to 4,48,573, according to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry.
India’s recovery rate now stands at 97.86 per cent.

-Top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 13,834 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 3,105 cases, Mizoram with 1,626 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,597 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 809 cases.

-At least 86.11 per cent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 56.8 per cent of the new cases.

-Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (95), followed by Maharashtra with 50 daily deaths.

-A total of 25,455 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total recoveries to 3,30,68,599 across the country.

-India’s active caseload stands at 2,73,889. In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 1,335.

-India has administered a total of 69,33,838 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 89,74,81,554. The country has been able to vaccinate 69.4 per cent of its adult population with at least one dose, and at the same time, 25.6 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated.

-A total of 14,29,258 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
