India logs 3,688 new Covid cases, Delhi continues to see spike in infections

New Delhi, April 30, 2022: India logged 3,688 new cases in the last 24 hours as per data by the Union Health Ministry. Meanwhile, Delhi continues to witness a spike in infections with 1,607 fresh Covid cases and two deaths.

 

A total of 188.89 cr vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

India’s Active caseload currently stands at 18,684 at 0.04 per cent and the recovery rate is currently at 98.74 per cent.

A total of 2,755 recoveries have been recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the count to 4,25,33,377. The daily positivity rate is at 0.74 per cent while the weekly positivity rate is at 0.66 per cent.

A total of 83.74 crore tests have been conducted so far, with 4,96,640 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

TOP DEVELOPMENTS

    * Top five states which have registered maximum cases are Delhi with 1,607 cases, followed by Haryana with 624 cases, Kerala with 412 cases, Uttar Pradesh with 293 cases and Maharashtra with 148 cases.

    * Around 83.61 per cent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Delhi alone responsible for 43.57 per cent of the new cases.

    * A total of 50 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours, increasing the total reported death count to 5,23,803.

    * India’s active caseload stands at 18 1884. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 883.
