India logs less than 3 lakh daily Covid cases, positivity rate falls to 15.52%

New Delhi, Jan 25, 2022: India has registered 2,55,874 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, a decline of 50,190 from yesterday. The daily positivity rate has dropped to 15.52 per cent.

 

On Monday, India recorded 3,06,064 new daily cases of Covid-19.

A total of 614 deaths and 2,67,753 recoveries have been reported in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate at present is at 93.15 per cent, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,70,71,898.

India’s active caseload currently stands at 22,36,842, at 5.62 per cent.

A total of 162.92 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

A total of 71.88 crore tests have been conducted so far. In the last 24 hours, 16,49,108 tests have been conducted.

India began administering precaution dose of Covid-19 vaccine to healthcare workers, frontline workers, including personnel deployed for election duty and those aged 60 and above with comorbidities from January 10 amid the country witnessing a spike in coronavirus infections fuelled by Omicron variant of the virus.
