New Delhi, Sep 30, 2021: India registered 23,529 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 24.7 per cent higher than yesterday. With fresh cases, the country’s overall caseload has now mounted to 3,37,39,980, according to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare early Thursday.
Kerala remains among the top five states which registered the maximum number of Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Kerala reported 12,161 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 3,187 cases, Mizoram with 1,741 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,624 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 1,084 cases.
As many as 84.14 per cent of the new coronavirus cases were reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 51.69 per cent of the new cases.
Meanwhile, India’s active cases declined by 5,500 in the last 24 hours. The active caseload now stands at 2,77,020.
Also, 311 more people succumbed to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s toll to 4,48,062. The maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (155), followed by Maharashtra with 49 daily deaths.
India’s recovery rate now stands at 97.85 per cent even as a total of 28,718 patients recovered in a day. Total recoveries have now increased to 3,30,14,898 across the country.A total of 65,34,306 doses have been administered across India in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally of doses administered to 88,34,70,578.A total of 15,06,254 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
