New Delhi, Jul 09, 2021: India registered 43,393 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the overall coronavirus tally in the country to 3,07,52,950, according to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Friday morning.
The top five states which have registered the maximum number of Covid-19 cases are Kerala with 13,772 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 9,083 cases, Tamil Nadu with 3,211 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 2,982 cases and Assam with 2,644 cases.
As many as 73.03 per cent of the new Covid-19 cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 31.74 per cent of the new cases.Meanwhile, 911 more people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the nationwide toll to 4,05,939. Maximum casualties were reported in Maharashtra (439), followed by Kerala with 142 daily deaths.With fresh numbers, India’s active caseload has now mounted to 4,58,727, with active cases declining by 1,977 in the last 24 hours.Also, India’s recovery rate now stands at 97.19 per cent even as a total of 44,459 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.India has administered a total of 40,23,173 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 36,89,91,222.On Thursday, the Union health ministry said India reported 45,892 fresh Covid-19 cases and 817 deaths over 24 hours.
