Walking out of the jail, Indrani Mukerjea, dressed in white, said that she was feeling better and that she had made no plans yet.

"Khula asman dikha. Bahut khush hun (I saw the open skies. I feel very happy)," she told the media gathered outside the prison complex.

"I am going home now. I have no plans. Just want to be home. I have learnt a lot in prison... I will talk about that in my next interview," she said.

Asked whether she blames anyone for the years in prison, she told India Today TV: "It’s all forgotten. Empathy and forgiveness - I have forgiven all the people who have hurt me."

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court decided the bail amount to be Rs 2 lakhs and said that Indrani must furnish the amount within two weeks.

Indrani Mukerjea is the key accused in the murder case of Sheena Bora, her daughter from a previous marriage. Sheena was allegedly kidnapped and strangled to death in 2012 before her body was left in a pit on the outskirts of Mumbai.

Indrani Mukerjea’s now former husband and media baron, Peter Mukerjea, was also an accused in the case along with two others. Peter Mukerjea has also served a jail term in the case.

The power-couple, as Indrani and Peter were once referred to, had set up the INX network in 2007 but sold their stake two years later amid allegations of embezzlement. The Enforcement Director had alleged that in 2008 Karti Chidambaram helped the husband and wife get clearance for foreign investment worth crores in their venture, for which he also allegedly received kickbacks. The case is still being probed.
