New Delhi, March 11, 2020: A day after resigning from the Congress, Jyotiraditya Scindia joined the BJP in the presence of party president JP Nadda.
Jyotiraditya Scindia is among the two candidates named by the BJP for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh.The announcement followed moments after the 49-year-old four-time Lok Sabha MP joined the BJP.
Earlier, Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh claimed that 13 out of 22 rebel MLAs in Madhya Pradesh have assured him that they are not leaving Congress, PTI reported.
Meanwhile, in a bid to keep its flock together, the crisis-hit Madhya Pradesh Congress has decided to shift its 95 MLAs to Jaipur. The MLAs have reached the Bhopal airport and are expected to arrive in Jaipur soon.
The 15-month-old Kamal Nath government was pushed to the brink on Tuesday with 22 MLAs loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia tendering their resignations to Raj Bhavan.
