KSRTC bus driver’s driving skills avert tragedy after steering rod gets detached

Mudigere, February 28, 2025: A major tragedy averted due to the presence of mind exhibited by a KSRTC driver at Charmadi ghat on Thursday.

The bus, which was bound to Shivamogga from Dharmasthala, broke mid-way as the steering rod got detached, causing a situation of panic among 63 passengers who were returning after taking part in Shivaratri festival.

Had the bus had moved a little more forward, it would have fallen into the gorge. However, the driver using his driving skill, managed in stopping the bus and parking it on the side of the ghat road, police sources said, quoting the passengers.

The passengers were sent to Shivamogga in another bus.
