Karnataka: Class 6 student dead, 2 others injured as Govt school wall collapses

Ramanagara, Sep 23, 2023: In an unfortunate incident, a student of Class 6 died while two of his classmates sustained injuries after a wall of a school collapsed in Ramanagara district in Karnataka. It took place at Morarji Desai Government School on Thursday.

 

The deceased boy, identified as Kaushik Gowda, suffered head injuries which led to his death.

As per reports, Kaushik went near the wall to wash his face when the incident happened. Two other students are being treated at a local hospital.

A case has been filed and an investigation is ongoing.

Commenting on the incident, BJP MLA from Malleshwaram constituency, Dr Ashwath Narayan CN told India Today, “Everyone responsible should be pulled up, including government officials. An innocent life has been lost because of the poor maintenance.”
