New Delhi, Mar 11, 2023: The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader, K Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, left the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in New Delhi following over 9 hours of marathon questioning in the Delhi liquor policy case.

During the questioning, the ED asked for Kavitha’s mobile phone, which was kept at her residence. Her security went home and brought the phone to submit to the ED office.

After leaving the ED office, Kavitha reached the Telangana CM’s residence where she was welcomed by the party workers and supporters.

Kavitha had asked the central probe agency to postpone her questioning to Saturday, citing her hunger strike in Delhi on Friday. The ED agreed to her request and rescheduled the questioning for Saturday.

K Kavitha is under the scanner of central agencies for her suspected role in the Delhi liquor scam. During the questioning, she was likely confronted by an arrested accused, Arun Pillai, who was also her close associate.

Reacting to the ED summons, BRS chief KCR said, "Let BJP do what they want, we won’t back down." Addressing a closed-door meeting at Telangana Bhavan, KCR said BJP has been trying to create trouble in Telangana and also for opposition party leaders through raids, searches, ED/IT summons. He also asked his party cadres and leaders to prepare for the upcoming elections in the state.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has already questioned K Kavitha in December last year for her suspected role in the Delhi excise policy case. Senior AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been arrested in the same case.
