Bengaluru, July 28, 2024: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to continue search operations for missing lorry driver Arjun, who disappeared after a landslide in Shirur, Karnataka. In a letter, Vijayan emphasized the need to keep searching until positive results are achieved.
"Wrote to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to express appreciation for the search teams’ dedication in locating Arjun, missing in a tragic landslide in Shirur. We requested directions to continue the rescue operations until they yield positive results," Vijayan shared on X.
The search was temporarily halted due to adverse conditions in the River Gangavali, according to Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sale. He stated that operations would resume once conditions improve.
Arjun, from Kerala, went missing after the landslide on July 15 in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district. A multi-agency rescue operation involving the Army, Navy, NDRF, Fire Rescue, and Police has so far been unsuccessful in locating him.
