Kottayam, Sept 23: Seven-time Kerala MLA PC Geroge, who called the Kerala nun a prostitute, has once again reiterated his attack and defended the rape-accused bishop.
Addressing a press conference in Kottayam, the Independent MLA said the investigation team is "trying to frame" bishop Franco Mulakkal who is accused of raping a nun 13 times between 2014 and 2016.
"I have photographs and videos of the nun with the bishop on the day after she was allegedly raped by the bishop. She can be seen happy and pleasant in the photographs," he said.
Recently he issued a controversial statement and called the nun a prostitute. "No one has doubt that the nun is a prostitute. Twelve times she enjoyed it and the 13th time it is rape? Why didn’t she complain the first time? (sic)," he had said on September 9.
In his press conference today, George said since the law forbids revealing identity of the complainant in a sexual abuse case, he is not showing the photographs in the press conference.
"If anyone has a doubt about the date, I also visuals of that function. I am ready to submit them before the investigation team," the MLA said.
He alleged that one of the investigating officials is "trying to frame" Franco Mulakkal.
"They intimidated the photographer [who clicked the photos during the event] and made him give a statement that the victim seemed upset on that day," the MLA claimed.
George, a long-time Congress member who left the party in 2015, has courted similar controversies in the past.
In September 2017, the chairperson of the Kerala Women’s Commission MC Josephine alleged that Independent MLA PC George sent her three threat letters, along with packets containing human excreta.
In August 2017, Kerala was rattled when a Malyalam actress was abducted and sexually assaulted by a male actor. Names of several bigwigs had cropped up in this case.
