BJP KICKS OFF YATRA IN KERALA
While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah kicked off the 15-day Jana Raksha Yatra in Kerala today, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister will take the stage on Wednesday in Kecherry near Kannur district.
Kannur has been the epicentre of the bitter political rivalry between the BJP/RSS and the CPM and has witnessed maximum political killings in the state.
Kannur is considered a stronghold of the CPM and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan won the Assembly election from Dharmadom seat in the district.
The BJP chief today launched a scathing attack on the ruling Left government in the state and held Pinarayi Vijayan responsible for the political murders of BJP and RSS workers in Kerala.
"I am asking Chief Minister Vijayan who has killed BJP and RSS workers in Kerala. If he does not have answers, then I am saying CM Vijayan is responsible for it," Shah told a gathering in Kannur.
Amit Shah said that attacks against RSS and BJP workers have spiked whenever Communists assumed power in the state. "More than 120 BJP and RSS workers have been murdered in Kerala so far. CM Vijayan is directly responsible for it," Shah said.
Shah said the march was a non-violent protest against the political killings. "We are starting the march from Kannur because it is the Chief Minister’s home district," he said.
