"We have made enough money for 3-4 generations in the name of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. If we can’t sacrifice this much, it won’t be good for us," Kumar said during a Congress protest condemning the ED case against Sonia Gandhi.

Sonia Gandhi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi on Thursday. The probe relates to alleged financial irregularities in the Congress-promoted Young Indian Private Limited, which owns the National Herald newspaper.

The Srinivaspur MLA made the comments when the Congress staged a protest in support of Sonia Gandhi.

State Health Minister Sudhakar K slammed Ramesh Kumar for the comments and said, "Congratulations to the brilliant leader who described the Congress party’s 60-year #LootIndia program very beautifully!"

On Thursday, Karnataka Congress leaders and workers led by former chief minister Siddaramaiah and state president DK Shivakumar took out a rally from party office on Queen’s Road which culminated with a public meeting at Freedom Park in support of Sonia Gandhi.
