A day after joining the BJP, Jyotiraditya Scindia met Home Minister Amit Shah, with the latter tweeting that “his induction into the party will further strengthen BJP’s resolve to serve the people of MP”.

The BJP on Wednesday announced the names of party’s candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, confirming Jyotiraditya Scindia’s candidature from MP.

Jumping ship to the BJP on Wednesday, Scindia said the Congress is not the party it used to be and there is no room for new leadership in it.

The current effective strength of the House is 228 with two seats vacant.
