Mumbai, Nov 18: A major fire occured on the top floor of a multi-storeyed office building in Bandra East, Mumbai trapping nearly 25 people. The fire later spread to the lower floor, even as firemen were struggling to douse the fire.
Nearly 30 fire tenders were sent to the spot. Firemen armed with oxygen masks and oxygen cylinders were trying to rescue people trapped in the fire.
The multi-storeyed building housing Food Corporation of India and some other offices is opposite Bandra East railway station.
People in adjacent buildings have been asked to vacate till the fire is brought under control.
Large number of people in home and shops nearby were seen walking away with LPG cylinders and othe combustible substances in case the fire spreads.
