Man’s body found in gunny bag near drain in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 03, 2021: The body of an unidentified man was found in a gunny bag near a stormwater drain in southern Bengaluru on Tuesday.

 

According to a report published in the Deccan Herald, his hands and legs were bound and his mouth and nose gagged with adhesive tape.

The victim was aged about 20-25 years and his body was discovered by a ragpicker in D’Souza Nagar, Banashankari, around 8 am.

"We are yet to ascertain his identity. We have sent his pictures to all police stations to see if there was any missing complaint,” the Deccan Herald quoted a senior officer as saying.

We suspect that he died due to asphyxiation but we are waiting for the post-mortem report, the officer added.

The jurisdictional RR Nagar police have stepped up the investigation to identify the victim.
