Bengaluru, July 07, 2017: Metro services came to a halt this morning in Bengaluru, leaving thousands of commuters stranded, as its employees protested against the arrest of their colleagues.
The metros have not been running since 5 am, allegedly over the arrest of employees after a fight with the police.
Speaking to NDTV, metro officials alleged that on Thursday morning, employees at a station in the city were attacked by Karnataka policemen who are in charge of security.
About 35 metro staff allegedly retaliated; six employees were arrested. Four of them have been released but the metro staff is demanding the release of the remaining two.
