Mumbai airport put on alert after threat from terror group

Mumbai, Feb 07, 2023: Police and other security forces at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport have been put on alert after a threat call from a terror group, Indian Mujahideen (IM).

 

According to sources, the threat call was received at the airport on Monday. They said the caller introduced himself as Irfan Ahmed Sheikh, a member of the terror outfit, Indian Mujahideen.

The airport officials informed the Mumbai Police about the threat call.

Soon, all agencies of the airport were alerted and Mumbai’s Sahar Police began an investigation by registering a case against the unknown person under section 505(1) (Whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumour or report, with intent to cause harm to people) of the Indian Penal Code.
