Pune, Sept 29: Anna Hazare has said that he will not resort to fasting any more to press for his demands, and will fight for his causes through agitations.

"Now onwards I will not undertake fast. In future I will fight for my causes through agitations," Hazare said last night at a Ganesh mandal ceremony in Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial township near Pune.

The anti-corruption crusader also said he would continue to work to send "clean" people to Parliament.
Anna Hazare said a number of retired IAS officers have shown their willingness to join his movement for a corruption-free India.

He said a large number of retired IAS officers had shown their willingness to join his movement for a corruption-free India.

Expressing full faith in country’s youth, Hazare asked them not to be pessimistic about future of the country.

Hazare had gone for fast three times last year (twice in Delhi and once in Mumbai) to press for a strong Lokpal Bill.

The Gandhian again sat on a protest fast at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi in July this year.

Earlier, he had undertaken hunger strikes on several occasions in Maharashtra on issues related to corruption and transparency in governance.

Hazare said he is deeply influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, for whom fasting was a spiritual weapon.

Politics split movement, says Anna Hazare; Team Kejriwal stands firm

Kejriwal-BhushansNew Delhi, Sept 29:
While Anna Hazare has made no secret of his displeasure with Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of splitting the anti-corruption movement by opting to enter politics, the latter has so far said little, refusing to retaliate.

Mr Hazare, in his latest attack on Mr Kejriwal that appeared in his blog post on Friday, had slammed the faction led by the latter for going against his will. The 75-year-old activist said that the movement against graft led by the erstwhile Team Anna was not divided in the past two years despite the best efforts of the UPA government. But, the group, he said, had now split even without the government having to put in any effort as one faction wanted to take the electoral route, the reference to Mr Kejriwal being more than obvious.

But NDTV has learnt that the Kejriwal-led group has decided to not react over the incident. Sources say that according to the faction, politics has not impacted the movement. On the contrary, according to the breakaway faction, the rift - which has in the recent times made for Anna vs Arvind headlines - has negatively impacted the campaign against graft, sources say.
