"The message (behind saffron terror remark) is right wing fundamentalist groups are suspected to be behind some bomb blasts and that message should not be lost in the furore over the phrase," he said.

Speaking on CWG security, Chidambaram said security overlays for the Commonwealth Games will be completed by September 15.

The Home Minister held a high-level meeting on Wednesday to take stock of security for the fortnight-long Commonwealth Games beginning October 3. A four-tier security apparatus with Army back-up will be put in place during the Games. Over 10,000 athletes from 71 countries and 500,000 spectators are expected at the Games.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to restart the dialogue process in Kashmir, Chidambaram said "the government will talk to any group or any political party who is willing to talk."
