Dhaka is all geared up for the PM’s visit, his first to the neighbouring country after he became PM. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Dhaka on Friday and will be accompanying the two premiers during official programmes.

Here’s what’s on the table. Both countries are expected to ratify the long-pending Land Boundary Agreement apart from signing a few key pacts. As part of talks, the silencing of liberal thinkers by extremists is also likely to figure. In the last few months, several bloggers who have written about religion have been hacked to death by Islamic extremists in B’desh.

Sources, however, said the government has reached a consensus that visa-on-arrival should not be extended to the neighbouring country blindly.
